The Herb'n Tallow Company is a small family business in Eugene, Oregon. Everything begins with grassfed and grass finished beef kidney suet from local Oregon farms, rendered in our own kitchen low and slow, the right way, until it becomes clean, creamy tallow.
From there we infuse it with organic and wild sourced whole ingredients: calendula, chamomile, lavender, vanilla bean, frankincense resin, and pine rosin. The Pure Raw Line is made with no essential oils, no fragrance, and no perfume. The Essential Line will use organic clean essential oils only.

Our Frankincense and Pine Balm starts with slow rendered tallow, then layers whole flower and resin infusions for antioxidant care, calming support, deep hydration, and a breathable moisture locking finish.

Grassfed beef tallow
Pure kidney suet is slow rendered in house and brings vitamins A, D, E, and K plus conjugated linoleic acid to deeply nourish dry skin.

Organic whole flower calendula
Calendula naturally contains flavonoids, triterpenes, carotenoids, and phenolic compounds that support antioxidant care, redness relief, skin repair, and hydration.

Organic whole flower chamomile
Chamomile brings alpha bisabolol, apigenin, chamazulene, flavonoids, mucilage, and coumarins to calm irritation, support sensitive skin, and encourage repair.

Frankincense infused golden jojoba
Frankincense resin contributes boswellic acids, terpenes, and antioxidants while golden jojoba helps mimic skin sebum, hydrate, balance, and support elasticity.

Castor oil carries ricinoleic acid, vitamin E, and phytosterols, while pine compounds support dry skin comfort, circulation, and soothing care.

Meet Matthew
Welcome to The Herb'n Tallow Company. I am the owner and founder. Over the last seven years or so I have been on a journey to eat and live healthier, to live as clean as possible in this toxic world. That journey has been for my family as much as for me. My lovely wife Alleyna and I have four wonderful children.
In October 2025 I started rendering my own tallow from the best grassfed and grass finished beef suet from local Oregon farms. Suet is the fat that surrounds the kidney of the cow and it is the most nutrient dense. During the six years I spent in quality control and quality assurance in the food manufacturing industry, I learned a great deal about good manufacturing practices, good sanitation practices, and how to get great quality consistently.
My daughter has eczema and does not like prescription ointments that do not work very well. After learning how nutrient dense tallow is and how great it can be for skin, I set out to make a non toxic skincare option to help her, something nourishing and deeply moisturizing. That is when I developed our Frankincense and Pine Whipped Tallow Balm, infused only with raw ingredients: herbs, flowers, and tree resins. I do not like heavy scents, perfumes, or fragrances, many of which can be toxic, and I also suffer from migraines, so I wanted a mild scent option.
Now we own a natural tallow based luxury skincare company and we just want to share this goodness with anyone who wants great skincare without all the chemicals and toxins, using the best nature has to offer the body's largest organ. The skin.

Beef tallow is remarkably close in structure to the oils our own skin produces, so it absorbs deeply instead of sitting on the surface. We use kidney suet, the most nutrient dense fat on the animal, from grassfed and grass finished cattle raised on local Oregon farms. It is rich in vitamins A, D, E, and K along with linoleic acid.
The Pure Raw Line is infused only with raw whole ingredients: herbs, flowers, tree resins, and vanilla bean pods. No essential oils, no fragrance, no perfume, which keeps the scent mild and gentle. The Essential Line uses organic essential oils for people who want a more expressive aroma. The Essential Line is in development and will be released here first.
Our very first balm was created for our daughter, who has eczema and did not do well with prescription ointments. The Pure Raw Line is chemical free, fragrance free, and perfume free, and the Essential Line will use organic clean essential oils only. As with any new product, we recommend a small patch test first, especially if you have a beef or bovine sensitivity.
A little goes a long way. Warm a small amount between your fingertips and massage into clean, slightly damp skin on your face, hands, elbows, or anywhere that needs it. It glides on velvety smooth, soaks in, and then locks moisture in behind a breathable barrier.
